incy wincy spider

whilst nicole and michael colovos are known for drawing their inspiration from obscure artist and works, this season's collection takees that obscurity to whole new level. referring to images i remember being in my gcse biology textbook many moons ago, of spiders webs after the spider was injected with certain stimuli, the one that particularly inspired colovos was caffeine. being a caffeine fiend myself i know what the wrong end of caffeine can do to you, so it's interesting to see the adverse effect on the spider's web.

the colovos' collection is edgy and ever so slightly effie the always controversial skins character with burnout lace tops, erractically pattern dresses and a muted colour scheme reminiscent of a spider's web on a cold autumn morning. the green of a leaf reflected in a bead of dew, the grey of the first breath of fogsoft, simple colours to contrast the hard edged theme.

this collection is amazing, so beautiful and i can't wait to see this in the highstreet!

got any favourite pre-fall collections yet?
